Overview
For the 2024 Netflix film "Atlas", I had the opportunity to work on screen graphics for both on-set and during post-production. The film envisioning a futuristic take on humanoid artificial intelligence in the year 2043, and featured many technical military-style graphics throughout the story.
Approach
Depending on the shot, I was working on both 2D and 3D animated graphics which would be delivered to various VFX studios. The Territory team and I worked with the art department for over two years on graphics and holograms, Heads Up Display (HUD) visuals, sophisticated, multi-layered interfaces, and more.
Hologram Design
Throughout the film, the military tech holograms focused more on clarity of data. This Included animating both 2D and 3D elements which would then be composited into the shot. In total, more than 300 animated graphics were delivered to five different VFX teams, while working most closely with Cantina Creative. My goal was to give the graphics an technical and frenetic energy to reflect the action-packed pace of the story.
